Verify it works

Ask: "Check my Layerre connection". The assistant should call layerre_auth_status and confirm you're signed in.

Authentication

Sign in with OAuth in supported clients, or send an API key for headless use.

OAuth

Recommended. Your client opens a browser, you sign in to Layerre and click Allow. Uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. Access is tied to your account and expires automatically.

API key

Send Authorization: Bearer lyr_… for CI or scripts. Revoke the key any time from your dashboard.

Review tool calls

Turn on your client's tool-approval setting for write tools, and be careful combining this server with others that read untrusted content (prompt injection).

The server is open source under the MIT license: github.com/Layerre/layerre-mcp. Report vulnerabilities to [email protected].

Troubleshooting

The browser sign-in loops or fails.+

Make sure you are signed in to layerre.com in that browser, then retry Connect. Pop-up blockers can also block the consent page.

I get "Invalid or expired access token".+

Disconnect and reconnect the server in your client to refresh the session. For API keys, check the key is active in your dashboard.

I get "Plan limit exceeded".+

Template imports and variants count as renders on your plan. Check usage on the Billing page or upgrade.

Can the assistant delete my templates?+

No. The server exposes no delete, billing, or API-key tools.

Rate limit errors.+

Render tools are limited per minute. Wait a moment and retry, and prefer the bulk tool for batches.
