How do you automate picture creation?

Picture automation fills a finished design with data. Build the picture once in Canva, map text and image fields to a spreadsheet or API call, and generate one file per row. Layerre does that from a Canva share link. Free is 50 credits, then $15/month for 500.

Picture automation fills a picture you already designed. The layout, fonts, and colors stay put. A spreadsheet or an API call swaps the headline, the name, or the photo. It is not an image model that invents a new picture from a prompt. If you wanted a different composition every time, you do not have a template yet.

What you can automate

Social posts where the offer changes, banners with a new price, certificates with a new name, welcome cards, product tiles. The test is simple: could a person duplicate the Canva page and only edit text and photos? If yes, a machine can do that edit.

Steps

  1. Design the picture in Canva. Put each thing that changes in its own text box or image frame. Name those layers after the columns you will use, such as headline and photo.
  2. Put one output per row in a sheet, or send one JSON payload per picture. Dates and prices should already be the string you want printed.
  3. Import the Canva share link into Layerre and map the fields. Render the first row and look at it before you run the list.
  4. Generate. Use the returned image URL in email, ads, your CMS, or your app.

One-off batch versus a system

Canva Bulk Create can run a single batch inside the editor on Pro, Teams, or Enterprise. Use that when someone can sit down, connect the sheet, and download a zip. Use an API when another system has to create the picture: a form, a product catalog, a new hire in HR software. Tool-by-tool notes are in best tools for automated graphics.

Credits

Layerre's free plan is 50 credits, then $15/month for 500. One picture is one render. A reprint after a typo is another render.
