Can you do a mail merge in Canva?

People look for "mail merge" and Canva calls the same feature Bulk Create. It fills one design from a spreadsheet: certificates, labels, postcards, name tags. You stay in the editor, map columns, and download the results.

Where is Bulk Create in Canva?

Open the design on desktop. Click Apps in the left toolbar. Search Bulk Create. It ships with Canva Pro, Teams, and Enterprise. The free plan does not include it. The mobile apps are a poor place to run it. Use the desktop editor.

How to mail merge in Canva

1. Put names and other fields in Google Sheets, Excel, or a CSV. Row 1 is headers. One design per row after that. Do not merge cells.
2. Open the certificate, label, postcard, or name tag. Each value that changes needs its own text box. A name and a date in the same box will both get overwritten by one column.
3. Apps → Bulk Create → connect the sheet or upload the CSV.
4. Map each column to a text box or image frame. Photos need a public https:// URL that returns the image, not a Drive or Dropbox preview page.
5. Generate a single row first and read it. Then generate the rest and download.

What native Bulk Create does not do

• No API. A Zapier "create a Canva design" action is not the same as filling this template, and Canva's autofill path is a separate paid Canva feature with its own limits.
• Nobody can trigger it when a new row appears. A person opens the editor and runs the batch.
• There is no webhook that writes the finished file URL back onto the spreadsheet row.
