What is Canva Autofill?

How to bulk fill Canva designs with Autofill vs a share-link API:

Prerequisites

• A Canva design or Brand Template with Autofill data fields (Canva Data autofill app) or a normal Canva file you can share
• A table of values: column names such as headline, price, hero_image
• A Canva Pro/Business/Enterprise seat for official Autofill, or any Canva plan if you import the share link into Layerre

Official Autofill (Connect API)

1. Mark autofillable fields on the Brand Template or design
2. Get the dataset, create an autofill job, poll until it finishes
3. Export the resulting Canva design

Autofill does not change colors or fonts. Canva has said usage limits are coming. There is no public per-render Autofill price; you pay the Canva seat. Enterprise is still contact sales for SSO and org Connect features.

Layerre (share link → map columns → generate)

1. Copy the Canva share link
2. Paste it into Layerre
3. Map spreadsheet columns to layers
4. Generate via dashboard or API docs
5. Use signed URLs in your app or Drive folder

Autofill vs Bulk Create: Bulk Create is a manual CSV app in the editor. Autofill is the programmatic Connect path. Layerre is a third-party render API on top of the same Canva file.

When Autofill is the right choice: you already run Brand Templates on Pro+ and need Canva-native jobs.
